Barbara Walters Talks about Her Career at the Atlanta Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon

Barbara Walters began her career as a TV morning news anchor on NBC’s Today , followed by 25 years as a co-host of ABC’s newsmagazine 20/20. Through the years, she has interviewed such world figures as Russia's Boris Yeltsin, China's Premier Jiang Zemin, Great Britain's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Libya's Moammar Qaddaffi and Iraq's President Sadaam Hussein. She was the first American journalist to interview Russia's President Vladimir Putin and the first to interview the President and Mrs. Bush following September 11. Barbara’s new book, Audition, reveals the forces that shaped her extraordinary life. Barbara writes with candor about her private life and professional career, reflecting on the choices she has made, the work she has done, the people she has met, the heartbreak she has faced, and the challenges she has coped with and overcome.

This luncheon is open to the public. APC members may purchase individual tickets for $28 each or tables of 10 for $280, which includes signage. The nonmember prices are $38 for individual tickets and $380 for tables of 10 with signage. Parking is $6 and is not included in the ticket price.
