Using Social Media to Connect with Your Audience and Sell Your Book

Writing a book and publishing it may be most of the battle, but selling your time can also be a struggle. Publishers are cutting back on their marketing budgets and booksellers have limited space on the shelves.

Thankfully, the ever-growing popularity and ease of online social media – Facebook, My Space, Twitter, as well as author websites and blogs -- makes it easier than ever for authors to reach their audiences, promote their books and gain readers. When writers take advantage of this “brave new world” online.

On Thursday, October 15, join a panel of award-winning and best-selling authors, led by Paste magazine book editor and Pulitzer Prize nominee Charles McNair, as they discuss the phenomenal new world of book marketing and promotion in this technological age. Mix and mingle with these and other accomplished writers, purchase their books for signing, and learn about two worthy professional organizations, ASJA and the APC, that support both national and local media members.

Panelists:
Hollis Gillespie, Atlanta magazine columnist and writing instructor , author of, most recently, Trailer Trashed: My Dubious Efforts Toward Upward Mobility
