The Georgia First Amendment Foundation and the APC Present:The Freedom of Information Road Show

National FOI expert, David Cuillier, will teach journalists and citizens the power of open records and how to acquire them. Topics include:

. Examples how open records are helpful in everyday life
. Strategies for effective records requests
. Psychological skills for getting officials to give you what you need
. Rousing inspiration for freedom of information

Participants will receive handouts and resources for using public records in everyday life.

Trainer David Cuillier, Ph.D., has served as an SPJ newsroom trainer in FOI since 2005 and is a frequent writer of FOI Toolbox columns in Quill. A former journalist, Cuillier teaches classes on access to records and conducts research in FOI. He is co-author with Charles Davis of the book, The Art of Access: Strategies for Acquiring Public Records.
