This line from the Wallace memo just cracks me up: “Online, we will show that we know Atlanta best, providing superlative news and information and becoming the preferred medium for connecting local communities.”
That very thing has been happening online… for, oh, about 15 years now! Hope they’re not too surprised at the AJC if no one really WANTS to be associated with that “preferred medium.” We’ve built our own just fine by now, thank you very much.

Thinking about the tone of the now infamous Wallace memo, I’m really getting p-off at the ludicrous level of arrogance on display from the AJC. Not a single person from the AJC, in any capacity or from any department, let alone as press, bothered to attend Atlanta’s first social media conference, SoCon07 February 10th. But the AJC audaciously claims some (imaginary) leadership role in the local online community!?! What planet are these people living on?
