Another stellar Newsmaker luncheon: John Huey
Time Inc.’s editor-in-chief, John Huey, shared his colorful views of growing up in Atlanta and toasted the great Alexis Scott, president and CEO of the Atlanta Daily World, who is celebrating 10 years as publisher. A random fire drill right before the event only foreshadowed the spontaneity and hilarity of Huey’s remarks. Though there’s no room to quote him, I imagine audio of the program will be available soon. Great work to all who made it happen!

I enjoyed Mr. Huey’s comments because of his honest reflection about the “two Atlantas.” It was refreshing to hear comments about the impact of race and culture on journalism and the careers of Mr. Huey and Ms. Scott.
