I have not read it yet, but this week’s The New Yorker (the March 31 issue) has a piece by Eric Alterman, a Brooklyn College journalism professor, on how the Web plays a role in the newspaper industry. Would be interested to hear what you think of the article, as I plan to get to it early this week.

It’s slightly old news but after 45 years in the business, veteran WXIA reporter Wes Sarginson has retired. (I remember watching him growing up in D.C. — I’m dating myself!) He has had a remarkable career. Congratulations to Wes on this achievement! Please continue to grace us with your presence at the Press Club!
